She embraces the challenges she has overcome in life and offers her life as a testimony to the goodness, the grace, the mercy and loving forgiveness of the one God who loves unconditionally. Reverend Dunson loves God and all of God’s people and believes there is room at the table for all of God’s children regardless of the isms, phobias and prejudices that so easily separate us.
Reverend Dunson’s favorite scriptures are Philippians 3:12 from the Message Bible which reads, “I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me”; and from the NIV, 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you”.
