A native of Enfield, North Carolina, Delores Harvey Lynch is the daughter of the late Lena M. and Robert Nathaniel Harvey.
Rev. Lynch completed her early education in the public schools of Halifax County, NC. Through her initiative and family encouragement, she received her Bachelors Degree in Business Education from St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC. She has done further study at Catholic University in Washington, DC in the area of Business Education. Accepting the Lord’s call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, she enrolled in the Howard University School of Divinity to prepare herself to do the task.
While matriculating at the School of Diviinty, she was the recipient of several scholarships and graduated with a Masters of Divinity Degree. She has completed training and consultation in the Pastoral Care Specialist Program at the Institute for Pastoral Psychotherapy. She is a licensed Professional Counselor. Her passion is to save as many married families through counseling before and after marriage. She plans to enroll in a doctoral program to work on a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Ministry. She is also a recipient of an Honorary Doctorate.
Rev. Lynch is a member of Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ where she was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in July 1991 by her Pastor, Rev. Dr. Dennis W. Wiley. She is the Senior Associate Minister under the leadership of Pastors Dennis & Christine Wiley. Rev. Lynch is the Minister of Nurture which involves: visitation to the sick and shut-in, scheduling supervisor for the Ministerial Team (including pulpit assignments), Ministerial Advisor to the Young Adult Ministry (Epiphany), Women’s Ministry, Diaconate Board and many other ministries.
Rev. Lynch successfully established a prison ministry at the church. She is a charter member of the Holistic Center and served as Vice President and a member of the Executive Board.
She preaches int he 8:00am and 10:45am worship services when called upon to do so by her Pastors. In the absence of her pastors, she serves as the Pastoral Minister. Above all this, Rev. Lynch wants it to be clear that she loves God and enjoys studying, teaching, and preaching God’s Word.
