Rev. Donelda Cook, Ph.D.

Rev. Dr. Donelda “Donnie” Cook ministers from an integration of her professional calling as a licensed psychologist and a vocational calling in spiritual direction. She serves as a companion to individuals desiring a prayer-life seeking inner openness and availability to God’s Presence and personal relationship with Jesus so as to intimately know, love, and co-labor with Jesus in the world today. Rev. Cook facilitates silent prayer retreats and is present with persons recently diagnosed and living through phases of chronic illnesses.

Professionally, Dr. Cook serves as Associate Vice President for Student Development and Executive Director of the Counseling Center at Loyola University Maryland, supervising the departments of Student Health Services, Counseling Center, Disability Support Services, and the Women’s Center. She integrates a pastoral presence and social justice advocacy into her higher education leadership position. Dr. Cook is also an affiliate faculty member in Loyola’s Pastoral Counseling Program. Her scholarly publications focus on multicultural psychology and the integration of spirituality and psychology in psychotherapy with African Americans.

Rev. Cook resides and works in Baltimore, MD. Believing strongly in the mission and vision of Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ, she maintains church membership and ministerial association with Covenant UCC, while her professional and ministerial activities are located beyond the walls of the church.
